Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2,100m) for registration. Continue by 4x4 to the trailhead at Lemosho Glades (2,100m). Trek through pristine rainforest, home to colobus monkeys and diverse birdlife. Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp, 2,820m) after 3-4 hours.

Day 2: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp
Leave the rainforest and enter the heather and moorland zone. The trail steepens as you approach the Shira Plateau. Arrive at Shira 1 Camp (3,610m) after 5-6 hours. Afternoon acclimatization walk to higher elevation.

Day 3: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp
Gentle trek across the Shira Plateau, one of the largest high-altitude plateaus in the world. Visit Shira Cathedral for stunning views of Kibo Peak. Arrive at Shira 2 Camp (3,850m) after 4-5 hours.

Day 4: Shira 2 to Barranco Camp
Climb to Lava Tower (4,640m) for lunch and vital acclimatization. Descend through the beautiful Barranco Valley with its giant senecio plants. Arrive at Barranco Camp (3,960m) after 6-7 hours.

Day 5: Barranco to Karanga Camp
Tackle the famous Barranco Wall in the morning - a fun scramble with stunning views. Continue to Karanga Camp (3,995m) arriving after 4-5 hours. Afternoon rest and acclimatization. Great views of the southern glaciers.

Day 6: Karanga to Barafu Camp
Short trek to Barafu Camp (4,673m) arriving by lunch. Afternoon rest and preparation for the summit attempt. Early dinner and briefing. Attempt to sleep before the midnight wake-up call.

Day 7: Summit Day & Descent to Mweka Camp
Midnight departure for the summit push. Trek by headlamp to Stella Point (5,756m) on the crater rim for an incredible sunrise. Continue along the rim to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) - the Roof of Africa! Descend to Barafu for rest, then continue down to Mweka Camp (3,100m) for a well-earned celebration.

Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Final descent through the rainforest to Mweka Gate (1,640m). Receive your summit certificate. Transfer to Moshi for a hot shower and celebration!
